I unfortunately due to a thief have no photographic record of my brief time in Israel.

I originally lived in Tel-Aviv of Ben Gurion, but due to the extremely high accommodation charges for non-semites. I moved out to Bat Yam (transalated Daughter of The Sea)

Bat Yam was a fun place to live as both Palestinians, Sabres and Eastern European Jews, lived in the same area I also knew a Palestinian guy who was living with a Russian Jewess. Which proves that Peace in The Middle East isn't impossible!!

I also visited Jerusalem (Al-Kuds) on a regular basis, I used to get a bus from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem and spend the day in the Old City.

Perhaps I spent so much time there to try and unravel why the three Major religions of the World (Judaism, Islam and Christianity all have their most Holy places within one very small area of the world.

One thing that disappointed me most in this the most Holy City in the world was the commercialism of the street vendors and the Palestinian graffiti on the walls surrounding the Church of The Holy Sepulchre. It appears  that religion is not held sacred within this City. (No change since Jesus' days then!)

I wandered the Via de la Rosa  and my thoughts were in turmoil, especially where they apparently did a U-turn (300 people in an ally no wider than 7 foot at best) Being an avid Monty Python fan didn't help as my thoughts all came back to the Life of Brian!

I visited the Wailing Wall and noticed the segregation of males and females at prayer within Judaism.

I visited the most Holy Mosque within Islam, where the Prophet Mohammed ascended into Heaven.

My thoughts after visiting these Holy Sites is instead of the three religions all trying to prove supremacy over one and other, why don't they unite to bring world peace? After all we all believe in one god, does it really matter that we can't agree on one name?

I didn't find religion in Jerusalem, only more unanswered questions.

I was taken with the Protestant Churches garden outside the city, on a site which in all probability was the hill of Golgotha as it was the only reasonable site for the Crucifixion and Burial of Christ. I mean 300 people were supposed to have been crucified with Christ, The Church of The Holy Sepulchre declares that it all happened within it's grounds, but I feel the size of the Crucifixion area is too small, and it is within the city walls, then the disease risk would have been too great even in those days, plagues and pestilence were rife.
