Mine fields can be any where in the Falklands The occupying and retreating Argentinean force were ignorant in the placing and using of Land Mines. The mine fields at Penguin Walk and York Bay were laid by illiterate farmers who couldn't plot maps or read the instructions on the mines. As a consequence of their ignorance there are probably the largest anti-personnel mines in the Falklands. This came about when the Argentineans were trying to make 10Kg Anti-Tank mines they incorrectly set the pressure plates to Anti-personnel. Copyright
